If you want to give your time then you can always volunteer for a charity or organisation that would benefit.
One way to find out about organisations that need volunteers is to search the Do-It website.
Tom found the charity Chrysalis and actively provides administrative support and also one evening a month
Another way is to give your money to any charity of your choosing and for any cause. If you are a UK tax payer then the charity can claim the tax back on your donation, if you provide them with permission to do so.
Tom supports Centrepoint.
It is a UK based charity that supports teenagers/young adults who have become homeless through no fault of their own. It provides them with a place to stay, the ability to learn through education and also develop skills to live independently.
" Although, it is mainly based in London... one day a child from this area may end up there"
Yes we should look at our own lives first... but
- two less bottles of wine a month
- one less pint of beer a week
- just 4 packets of cigarettes
How about supporting us here at Michaelmas ?
There are 3 ways:
- Come along to one of our services and give a donation.
- Buy things online - use Easyfundraising and purchase items(even your weekly shopping) and each time you purchase something a small donation is given by the company. So nothing is really coming from your pocket but the big pockets of the business'.
- Search online - Use Easysearch as a search engine, a bit like using Google, but every time you do two searches we receive 1p.
